Each year, during the holidays of All Saints, a phenomenon that we are now accustomed to occurs :

  • the change of time ! 

 This is a signal that we are well and truly sinking into fall and that we are moving at great speed  towards : raclette, chocolate sweets, snow (fingers crossed) .. winter with a big "W" ! So it's time to take out his hot water bottle, his cup of tea and settle down quietly next to a good fire ... WOOF!

 

«Woof, » ? Who said "woof" ? Who dared to break the idyllic setting I was visualizing perfectly? Who stares at me with his frisbee mouth and his quivering tail? ... Yes, my dogs !

 

For them, change of time or not, concerning the rambles, the negotiations with our dogs are: closed! They still want to go outside for walks and especially they still need it !

 

However, personally, during this time of the year, I am less comfortable. We cannot see anything a few meters around, cars and scooters still spinning as fast, the bikes narrowly dodge us by slaloming with their yellow bibs, it's flashing everywhere, it's a real festival own here ! On the other hand, if we move away from the city, it is total nothingness and darkness ! And if the solution was that we equiped ourselves, too ?

 

So we tried the experiment by trying the light collars from Leuchtie ! Leuchtie is a company based in Germany that has been dedicated to the manufacture of this type of equipment since 2003. Hardly have we been in contact with them that the package had already arrived ! Level of responsiveness and delivery: nothing to complain about :) ! 

 

We have been supplied with two different models (among the four existing): a Leuchtie plus and a premium Leuchtie! (the mini being made for small dogs).

 

Battery life

 

Leuchtie Plus :

 

  • 100 hours of battery life with AAA alkaline batteries (battery model or rechargeable model available)

 

Leuchtie Premium

  •  25 hours of lighting autonomy (battery only model). 

Features

  • The collars are equipped with a smart ignition system: when the battery compartment (or "elbow connector") is down (position in which it will once be on the dog) the collar will turn on automatically!  If it is up, it turns off after a few minutes!
  • The collars are waterproof: no problem for fans of night swimming.
  • The brightness is really intense: with the "Plus" we can see the necklace very well, even though our dogs have "mid-long" hair. With the "Premium" light is so intense that it also illuminates the floor, much like a flashlight
  • They are available in 10 colors! (this allows you to spot the different doggies that we are walking)

 

Personal observations

  • If this necklace had not been "offered" we might not have been directed to this product because we found the price a little high at first !
  • However, now that we have tried it, the quality looks irreproachable and seems to justify the price (remains to be seen evolution over time!)
  • I really appreciate the fact that it does not blink and that the intensity of the light is not a nuisance for our dogs who do not even seem to notice the radiation !
  • When you receive the product, there is a small manipulation to do (remove plastic "seals" in the PVC tube that prevents electrical contact during transport and the possible waste of energy.) It's easy to do , but the record is in German, it may not seem that obvious!!
  • Pour les tailles nous avons pris un 35 et un 40. Le 35 est un peu juste à enfiler et retirer. Le 40 est parfait !
  • For sizes we took a 35 and a 40. The 35 is a bit just to put on and take off. The 40 is perfect!
